Through the efforts of this coalition and informed by the feedback of people with developmental disabilities and their families, we believe that a new approach to the way Ohio’s HCBS waiver waiting list operates is needed.
It’s time to Fix The List.
This is a proposed rule for adoption and the coalition welcomes your comments and feedback.

You may submit public feedback by email to Becky.Phillips@dodd.ohio.gov by May 3, 2018.

Waiting List Improvement Survey
In 2017, we sent a survey to people with developmental disabilities and their families to provide their direct feedback on what parts of the current waiting list is valuable to them and what would make the waiting list work better to meet their needs in the future. With 651 responses, this survey has prominently incorporated the voices of the people who currently use or will be using Ohio's waiting list into the process as we Fix The List.
Fifty-three percent of people with developmental disabilities and their families who responded to this survey did not know that their local county board may have services available that do not require waiver funding and can be provided without having to be placed on a waiting list.
